Harvest Season

Time is flying!

We sped through Spring and Summer, roared past the Fall Equinox and are now barreling through the month of October, well into Harvest Season.

In my neck of the woods, that means tomatoes, grapes, olives, pomegranates. Our peppers are still producing, the beans have been reinvigorated by the cooler weather, and the persimmon tree is loaded.

Our olives take up the most of our energy, planning for harvest, curing, and getting to the mill on time. I’ll write a separate post just about our olives and community milling experience.

But harvest season is for more than gifts from the land. All the other creative projects that have been percolating through the year are getting closer to their ripeness, too.

After preparing art activities for a few book events, Spring and I have started working on some activities for a Harper the Love Puppy Activity Book.

Before heading back east for my 50th High School Reunion (Yes, time flies – I know I said it already), I handed in the manuscript for our next picture book collaboration, Dancing Granny and Me. No cover to show just yet.

And, last but not least, we are very close to pressing publish on our first poetry collection in our Co Poets Series.

It has been so much fun to work with Spring, as my Artner. Writing – or any type of creating can be a lonely at times. I’m also fortunate to have my group of friends and writers who meet each week to cheer each other on and, planting new ideas, and keep the energy moving torward harvest season.

What are you harvesting this season?

What new ideas are you planting?

Thanks for being here,

Lisa
