Laughing til you snort
Laughing til you cry
Laughing so hard you wet your pants
Oh me, oh me, oh my
Just little chuckle
Or a loud guffaw
Belly laugh
Silent laugh
Laughing so your sides ache and your throat feels raw
Maybe it starts as a tiny giggle
Soon tears are streaming down your face
Abdomen aching
Lungs screaming for a breath
Perhaps too loud and inappropriate
Or just not the right time
But your body laughs anyway
Releasing emotions is not a crime
We can't always control
What strikes our funny bone
Even in pain or sadness
With others or alone
I'll take that gift of laughter
Of humor
As embarrassing as it may be
And hope to share with laughs with you
And that you will share with me
