Practicing Presence and Letting Go of Judgment

This morning I listened to a meditation by Dennis Morton  from the Peleton App.  He chose a line from a course in Miracles for the focus of the mediation about practicing nonjudgment in order to move into presence.

Today I will judge nothing that occur

Today I will judge nothing that occur

Today I will judge nothing

Releasing the burden of responsibility of judging from our shoulders so we can move into presence

Not judging either positive or negative.

Neutral.

Oof.  My jaw, neck, and shoulders have been so tight. How much is that related to making thousands of unnecessary judgments each day?

What a concept, to consider releasing  judgment to move into presence – not only during my dedicated morning mediation time, but a way to notice and practice not judging, remaining neutral to be present as I go through the day.

And since I am an imperfect human who doesn’t take long to unconsciously start analyzing, critiquing, and judging just about everything. But I can choose to practice not judging.  To notice and, without judgment,  begin again. And again.

Because we are practicing.  And learning. All life long.
